One of the major functions of the WTO is implementing and monitoring of trade. The WTO agreements obligate governments to ensure trade policies are transparent by updating them about laws and measures currently or soon to be in force. They also set rules through trade negotiations to maintain this transparency. The Doha round is the latest one beginning in 2001 discussing areas such as services, agriculture and intellectual property. Another function is dispute settlements. Following a certain procedure for resolving trade issues under the Dispute Settlement Understanding (DSU) is vital in enforcing rules to ensure trade flows smoothly. Since 1995, over 400 complaints have been created by WTO members. Building trade capacity is also one of the WTOââ¬â¢s roles. Their agreements contain special provisions for developing countries, this includes extended time periods to implement agreements, measures to increase trading opportunities, and support to help build their trade capacity. Wellness Essay Example For Students
Wellness Essay Freshman seminar Wellness Essay paper 101 Ways of doing It With Out Actually doing it This program totally wasnt what I expected it to be. To my surprise the whole thing was actually about relationships, and what to do on dates without having sex, and or sexual influence. Attending college is a very different experience. Its when most of us experience life situations and learn to make our own decisions. The problem is that many students, due to the influence of our society, decide to have sex because everybody else is doing it. We will write a custom essay on Wellness specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now But what many students dont realize is that there both rewards and consequences when dealing with sexual intercourse. This is an important issue, especially when most of my fellow peers believe in casual sex. I personally believe that sex is something that shouldnt be taking lightlyin other words, Im not anybodys booty call!!!! Anyways, back to the seminar. In the discussion, many of us realized that dates seem to be a thing of the past. No one really goes on a one on one date anymore. Its always a group thing, going out to a party or just hanging out. I cant even remember if Ive ever been on a real date myself. Relationships lack that solid foundation of one to one communication, which is probably why most teens have sex: its whats expected, yet nobody talks about it. During the seminar, we were educated in finding other ways to express ourselves and feelings to each other. Even though some were far-fetched and unrealistic (for example: a grave yard walk), some were actually feasible (example: a picnic). A few of the other suggestions included a K-mart party, which I personally wouldve evr thought of, but I guess it is another alternative to sex. Some of the more realistic ones included walks on the beach, athletic activities, dinner and a movie. Hopefully some of these ideas will be used around campus instead of sex. Many attending the meeting suggested other dating ideas such as horseback riding, test driving cars and playing golf. I didnt quite agree with them because a.) horses are big animals b.) I dont have a license and c.) I HATE golf!!!! Also during the seminar, we participated in an activity. We were split into groups, based on gender. The girls that attended the seminar wrote down some of the things they like to do and some of the things they hate, the boys in the room did the same. When we compared each others answers we found that we do not have that many differences. There were some misunderstandings, but we all generally wanted the same things. The guys ideal date was very similar to the girls; good conversation topped with a little romance. At the same time, stereotypes we cleared up; all guys dont think only about sex. But like anything in life, theres conflict: both the girls and the guys got into heated arguments about each others actions towards one another. The girls said that they hate it when a guy slap their ass, while the guys said that they hated it when girls get mad and decide to stop talking. Among the top ten things girls and guys hate about each other were: 1.) That all we really think about is sex, but we try to deny it, because we were always thought that t was wrong, and bad. 2.) We all want some attention. 3.) When guys brought there girls with them to hang out wither there buddies and are never formally introduced, so they feel awkward. 4.) Those guys also never listen to what girls say, even though we know that we are whiney, we just want you to show that you care .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d , .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d .postImageUrl , .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d , .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d:hover , .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d:visited , .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d:active { border:0!important; } .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d:active , .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u50639cefd9ff40e665ca4f9dd0f9e68d:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Scorpion Essay. All of these factors have played a positive influence on my training habits and abilities. Basketball has been a very large part of my life. It was the first sport I ever learned to play. When I was younger I would watch my older brothers and my uncles go the park and play. It was something I enjoyed doing. That has a lot to do with your health. If you can find something you love to do and can give you a workout then you can be considered healthy. Playing basketball made me better physically and mentally. As I grew older I started to play more, which put me in better shape. Finally by my freshman year I was playing for my high school. I learned the great skills as well as teamwork. This is an example of how sports develop a person mentally and physically. While playing basketball probably was the most enjoyable it did not put me in the best shape. I have tried just about every sport in my life, but the two that I have been most successful at are swimming, and running. Running is the one I have decided to do in college, but I also love swimming. I started swimming when I was about two years old, but I did not start competitively swimming until the summer before my junior year. I trained daily when I joined my summer swim team after my best friend told me it would be good for the upcoming cross country season. After swimming I realized that it is a great way to learn controlled breathing, and to increase your VO2 max. It is also a great workout for your legs and arms. And the competition from swimming teaches sportsmanship, and punctuality. Swimming to me was a major part of my health and physical fitness my junior and senior year, but the biggest part was running cross-country and track and field. I did not start competing in cross-country until my junior year of high school. I remember going to the first practice and running about a mile and a quarter in twelve minutes. My first race was 24:24, which is right around eight minutes a mile. That was the first step to me becoming a better runner. I have always been a strong competitor. I would compete in gym, sports, and activities. It is in my mind to always finish on top. That is a factor that leads me to improve my performance at cross-country. At the end of my junior year I had improved my time to 20:10. This was a huge accomplishment for me, but it was not the end. Over the next summer I trained with my best friend, and went to a very informative running camp. I returned my senior season beginning with a time of 19:40 at the first meet of the year. I was not satisfied at all, and after getting over an injury I returned to end the season running a 17:55. This was a big accomplishment for me because one of my goals for the season was to break the eighteen-minute barrier. I still pursue a college athletic career in running, I had a disappointing cross-country season, but after realizing my errors I hope that my sophomore year will be a lot better, but for now my full attention is on track, and the training it will take to make the team. That is the biggest goal for me to accomplish right now. Goals are another big factor of my personal health. To truly achieve anything means that you have reached your goal. 4.) Those guys also never listen to what girls say, even though we know that we are whiney, we just want you to show that you care .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac , .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac .postImageUrl , .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac , .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac:hover , .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac:visited , .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac:active { border:0!important; } .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac:active , .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .udffa3c148bb260bf9c1da6afd8ef07ac:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Hamlet, Laertes Fortinbras: Avenging Their Fathe Essay. Eventually, both agreed to work on those problems after yelling for a good five or ten minutes. No matter what anybody says, the girls won in this seminar. They made valid points on what is totally disrespectful on the guys part. I did learn more then I expected to from this. Girls and the guys both had valid arguing gounds. It s just .

The eNotes Blog A Library of Irish Gold Contemporary IrishAuthors
A Library of Irish Gold Contemporary IrishAuthors This St. Patricks Dayà bring on the corned beef and cabbageand books! In honor of this wonderful holiday, we thought wed focus on literature from Ireland. Even ifà youre familiar with books that hail from the Irish lands,à hopefully youll learn something new about these authors and theà origins of their works. So sit back, pour yourself a cuppa, and learn about some truly intriguing these Irish lads and lasses. Maeve Binchy (Alsoà known as Binchy-Snell) Until her passing in 2012, Binchy was an influential Irish novelist, poet, playwright, columnist, public-speaker, and short-story writer (that is quite a list!). Binchy was best known for the skill with which she portrayed Ireland in a sympathetic and often humorous manner, including the oft-seen occurrence of a welcome twist ending. The New York Times once reported that Binchys writing career began on accident in the early 1960s, after she spent time on a kibbutz in Israel. Her father was so taken by her letters home that he cut off the Dear Daddy bits, Ms. Binchy later recounted, and sent them to an Irish newspaper, which published them. Dont we all wish for a long and successful career that starts on accident? Binchy published sixteen novels, four short-story collections, a play, and a novella.à For obvious reasons, including her addition to Oprahs Book Club and appearances on the New York Timess Bestseller List on multiple occasions, Binchy is still remembered as one of Irelands more influential writers. Some of Binchys best known works are her novelsà The Glass Lake, Scarlet Feather,à and Quentins. John Boyne A rather well known author, Boyne has been fortunate enough to see his work translated into forty-eight languages around the world. Much of this fame stemmed from what could arguably be considered his most famous work,à The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. In producingà content for both young and adult readers, Boyne reaches into his depth of creativity and knowledge about his homeland in Ireland (he was born and raised in Dublin). Throughout his career, Boyne has received (and likely will continue to receive) a number of critical acclaims, such as the Hennessey Literary Award and his 2015 award for the Honorary Doctorate of Letters from the University of East Anglia. To look into his work beyondà The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas (which actually if you havent read, you really should- its fabulous), you could check out titles such asà A History of Loneliness andà This House is Haunted. Marian Keyes Keyes is best known for her work in womens literature, some going so far as to hail her as a pioneer of womans lit. All in all, Keyes had something of a tough time of it; after graduating from Dublin University and moving to London to take on a post at an office job she fell into a deep depression that led her to a period of severe alcoholism (Keyes writes quite frankly about this time in her history, as it is relevant to her later work). Though this time in her life was painful, Keyes manages to work this darkness into her novels, turning her more or less comedic stories into deeper narratives that draw on lifes hardships. Keyess debut novelà Watermelon became a landslide success which eventually opened the door to her continuation as an author. Other popular works by Keyes includeà Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married andà This Charming Man. Tana French If youre a fan of modern-day mystery novels set primarily in Ireland and the UK, then French is the author for you. Actually, chances are youll be a big fan of French regardless to where you prefer your mystery novels to be set! Though she started out as an actress training at the Trinity University Performing Arts school, French also went into her career with a strong working knowledge of literature. Couple her writing skills with the experience of growing up in numerous countries around the globe and you have a recipe for a talented storyteller. French began her debut novelà In the Woods during lulls between casting. Almost immediately upon the novels publishing, it became a critically acclaimed hit, topping charts around the world and taking a firm place on the New York Times Bestseller list. Since then, French has published four more novels (sequels toà In the Woods) and has another on the way with an assumed publishing date in August of this year. With only five books currently under her belt, French has already sold over one million copies of her work, so we have to assume shes doing something right (though you could also figure that out by reading one of her novels- The Likenessà and Faithful Placeà areà just fabulous). Frank McCourt Now there are some people who have had tough lives, and then there are people who have hadà tough lives. Well, Mr. McCourt is without a doubt one of the latter. Born in 1930 (yep, during the Great Depression), in the boroughs of New York, McCourt lived out some of his younger years with his family (his father being ex-IRA and his mother a devout Catholic) in what can only be described as a slum. After mourning the loss of newborn siblings, the family returned to Ireland where they continued to live in absolute squalor. After being abandoned by his father, McCourt was kicked out of school at age thirteen and turned to stealing odd bits of food and change in order to feed his remaining family members. Eventually, McCourt saved the money required to move back to New York where eventually he managed to weasel his way into New York University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in English. McCourt became an English teacher and overtime saved the money needed to assist his family members in their immigration to the States. In 1997, McCourt won the Pulitzer Prize for Autobiography and Biography for his workà Angelas Ashes, a memoir written about the struggle of his family, and particularly the strength of his mother. Though it has been criticized as being too harsh to Ireland,à Angelas Ashes remains an incredibly influential and powerful story that earned the author international recognition.

What is 'sexting', and what does it mean to the current enforcement of Essay
What is 'sexting', and what does it mean to the current enforcement of child Pornography laws Are minors putting themselves at risk for a lifetime of hell - Essay Example engaging in harmful activities via these modes of communication (Mitchell, & Finkelhor, 2011; Mitchell, Finkelhor, Jones, & Wolak, 2012; Wolak & Finkelhor, 2011). These harmful behaviors are cyberbullying, public posting of sexual images, and soliciting for sex online. Even though the legal definition of the term "sexting" vary across jurisdictions, most state laws focus on images relayed through mobile telephony. However, images are also transmitted through computers, web cameras, and digital cameras among other gadgets (Sacco et al., 2010). Current studies apply broader definitions of sexting, which defines it as the sending and/or receiving of sexually suggestive images or messages by mobile phones, in measuring the prevalence of sexting behaviors among the youth (Mitchell et al., 2012). The youth have extensive access to modern communication technologies, with a reported 25% of them owning mobile phones (Lenhart, 2009). This ease of access enables them to stay in regular contact with parents and friends. Consequent to this ease of access and use, sending and receiving text messages via mobile telephony has become easy and popular, especially among adolescents. A recent study estimates that the youth send and receive approximately 3,000 text messages monthly. In addition, many mobile phones also allow users to send pictures and video. Although there are many positive attributes of mobile telephony such as the ability to instantly connect, communicate, and share, it also has several potential problems, including ââ¬Å"sexting.â⬠The different definitions of sexting have resulted in conflicting findings by researchers on the actual prevalence of sexting among the youth. For example, the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy and CosmoGirl.com conducted a study to examine the prevalence of teen and young adult sexting behaviors in 2008. In this study (Sex and Tech) sexting was defined as the relaying of nude or semi-nude photos or videos. The

Network planning for my Logistics class Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Network planning for my Logistics class - Essay Example The decisions made on the logistics network are usually framed to act as a trade-off between the fixed costs of a warehouse and the costs of transporting the goods. This means that, if the network has a few warehouses, then there is a reduction of fixed costs although it raises the transportation costs. Adding more warehouses on the network reduces the transportation costs and increasing the fixed costs. There are two different factors which one must consider when designing a network design. The first factor which a logistician must consider most is the distance. Adding more warehouses in a network decreases the number of kilometers travelled because the distance from the supplier to the warehouse and then to the customer is minimized. Moreover, the most expensive part in the logistics is the movement of goods from the warehouse to the end user since the load shipped is always divided into different quantities. The more the warehouses on the design network the fewer the kilometers between the customer and the stores. This paper includes the second factor which is to optimally solve the network design problems whereby there is the inclusion of inventory cost. Ballou (2001) acknowledges the importance of the inventory costs inclusion over the fixed costs of warehousing and also the costs of the transportation. Ballou (2001) also explains that the absence of the inventory costs in network design is caused by the mixed integer in the linear programming, of which is a requirement to have the cost relationships to be linear. Unfortunately, in the real world, the relationships between the inventory and the number of warehouses are not linear. Using the approach of including the inventory costs motivates one to treat the relationship between the inventory and the number of warehouses as a function which is discrete. This is the reason of proposing the model that may be used by different firms through the inclusion of inventory in the
